Technical Lead Hyattsville, Maryland
100 – 110 per Hour

This is a 3-6 month contract and will be leading an existing environment and building out a new one in terms of a client divestiture.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects
  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications including but not limited to large, complex local and wide area networks, computing systems infrastructure, Active Directory, VMware, enterprise applications and environments, security posture, applications and appliances, compliance, and audit processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles

  • Technical Team Leadership

    • Provide technical leadership, advisory and support to the technical team to promote the delivery of technical deliverables and solutions
    • Reporting to the Program Lead, communicate updates and coordinate the technical effort to maintain alignment with the overall program direction
    • Maintain awareness of the program schedule and drive the delivery of milestones and technical outcomes being committed to with the client
    • Review and ensure the quality of the technical design and validate the direction of the technical work across value streams and provide direction to the team on changes required
    • Ensure technical team keeps documentation up to date as designs change and equipment is configured and installed
    • Translate the Standard for the technical build into technical requirements
    • Coordinate with the team on the key technical activity and facilitate key decisions
      • Lead technical problem-solving session with the team
      • Ensure technical problem-solving sessions result in well-defined next steps and accountable task owners
      • Coach technical resources on how to walk the client though a design or decision using visual depictions when needed
    • Escalate and propose solutions for technical roadblocks to the Program Lead to ensure the team is not stalled
      • Partner with Value Stream Leads to help technical team members manage workload and prioritize tasks
    • Escalation point for matters related to the technical team for the client and Value Stream Leads
      • Weekly checkpoints for escalation
      • Assessment and guidance of team members on delivery
      • Raise concerns of over-allocation of team members
  • Client Relationship Management

    • Be the clients primary technical contact for coordination of the technical resources
    • Review and validate all procurement requests from the technical team prior to delivery to the client
    • Review and ensure the quality of all key deliverables prior to delivery to the client
    • Prepare the clients IT department for the transition into an operational state
    • Partner with the client to devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management

Pay Rate: $100 – $110 per hour
